The Highland Prep West SeaPerch program is once again demonstrating its excellence with a team qualifying for the 2026 SeaPerch International Challenge. Team HPW Valentine, comprised of Kelly Correa, David Escobar, Maya Frias, and Ruth Fry, secured a first-place finish at the 3rd Annual Highland Prep Academies SeaPerch Robotics Competition. The team demonstrated exceptional technical skill and strategic execution to claim the top spot on the podium, solidifying their reputation as a premier robotics program in the community.
To secure their trophy, the HPW Valentine team mastered a series of rigorous underwater mission challenges through relentless preparation and innovative engineering. This impressive showing has officially earned the team a coveted spot at the International Competition in Maryland, where they will compete against the best student-engineers from around the world. Their journey to the international stage follows a standout performance at a major regional challenge in San Diego, where they competed against a massive field and took home first place for their Technical Design Report.
